Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to questions most often asked by customers about our ingredients and handmade products... please read below to see if an answer exists for questions you may have for us.

Do you test on animals?

No, we do not perform animal testing and no one does so on our behalf.

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

Our products are especially kind to sensitive skin. The carrier oils we use make for a very gentle skincare product suitable for the majority of skin types.

Some essential oils, particularly citrus oils such as Lemon may cause a problem for very sensitive skin so please do a patch test first before further use. The best place to do a patch test is on the inside of your arm - use sparingly and leave for 24 hours to assess if you can use product or not.

Why is it so important to have glycerine in soap?

Glycerine attracts and holds moisture to your skin. The term used is humectant.

Do you use fragrances and colourants in your products?

Why pollute what is a natural product with artificial alternatives that have no other benefit other than to inflate profits?

We believe in leaving our products as they are in their natural state. You can expect only natural scents and colours using pure essential oils and ingredients in our products.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Our cottage is surrounded by unspoilt countryside found in the heart of Speyside, Morayshire. Long walks and cycle rides allows us the chance to rest and relax whilst enjoying our wildlife. This is what inspires us to make our beautiful soaps and other skincare products.

We also draw inspiration knowing we are helping you care for their skin with a product that is wholly healthy & natural with no unwanted nasties to harm your body.

Why do your products have a batch number?

We make our products in small batches for the highest quality possible and part of maintaining that level of quality is knowing all those little details about our products.

We can trace the complete history of our products from a batch number as no two batches are alike. Our records can show for example, who made the batch and when to who supplied the ingredients amongst other details.

How long does your products stay fresh?

Our products will keep fresh for periods up to 12 months but are best used within 6 months.

Is there anything I can do to make my soap bar last longer?

Simply use a soap dish that allows the soap to dry between each use. Your natural soap will last up to 50% longer using a soap dish.

It is not recommended to leave your soap bar sitting in a pool of water during or after use... store unused soap bars in a cool, dry place.Bunch of Lavender herbs

Yes we do... our feature on natural ingredients used in our products explains why they play an important role in your health & beauty.
